{FRAGRANCE REVIEW} | Olympea by Paco Rabanne

This year Paco Rabanne fragrances set out to create the perfect equivalent to the iconic Invictus. Olympea, based on a modern Greek goddess, was born. With a salty and fresh oriental composition, Olympea represents strength, spirit, dynamism and victory.

The bottle, designed by Marc Ange is beautiful. It represents the laurel crown and is a beautiful soft pink adorned with rose gold. It’s a lovely piece for any dressing table. I’m quite sure many girls will buy this just for the bottle! Not to worry though, what’s inside is just as magnificent!

At the top, the fragrance is very oriental. It opens with sparkling green mandarin, ginger lily and calm water jasmine.  The heart is full of sublime salted vanilla and the base is made up of sandalwood, cashmere and ambergris. I really love the addition of the salted vanilla to the fragrance. It tempers the woodiness of the base and the fresh punch of the top and gives it this really sultry sweetness.

The fragrance is very long lasting and the combination of all its notes makes Olympea suitable to wear all year round. It is a really elegant fragrance and while it isn’t delicate, it doesn’t overwhelm the senses.  It can be worn day and night.

You can find Olympea in 30mL, 50mL and 80mL Eau de Parfum at selected Stuttafords stores.

Until next time

Love and sparkles

  1. Hmmm, tempting except for the vanilla. I prefer vanilla in my cake and not on my skin. The flacon is stunning though, and the name, Olympea, evokes a sense of drop-dead-gorgeous beauty. Don't you sometimes find your self buying a scent just for the bottle or the name?
