If you’re looking for a gift for the contemporary man (Harvey Specter?) in your life, this is the review for you. Armani Code was launched by Giorgio Armani fragrances in 2004 and celebrates the modern man. Created by perfumers Antoine Lie, Antoine Maisondieu and Clement Gavarry; and blends together Oriental, fresh and masculine notes.
The bottle is really minimalist and understated. It is
opaque black and an unconventional curved shape. It bears the words ‘Armani
Code’ very simply at the bottom.
The fragrance begins with fresh, citrusy notes of bergamot
and lemon. The middle tempers the freshness with fragrant star anise, olive
blossom and guaiac wood. At the base there are the very classic and comforting
scents of leather, tobacco and tonka bean. I really love how a classic base is
brought together with fresher, more contemporary and unusual top and middle
notes. The result is seductive yet soothing.
When Shuaib wears this fragrance the only word I can use to
describe it is ‘laundry’! It really smells like the enhanced version of a fresh
basket of laundry on him! This eau de toilette is very fresh and modern but also very comforting. It’s
a pleasant and unpretentious scent that can be worn all day and all year round.
Armani Code will take you from the office to the boardroom to that sushi date.
You can find Armani Code in various sizes at most fragrance
retailers where it retails between ZAR995 and ZAR1475.
Until next time
Love and sparkles
