Last week fashion house Louis Vuitton unveiled its Cruise
2017 collection in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The collection was presented to
celebrities and the fashion industry elite at Niterói Contemporary Art Museum. The
futuristic building was designed by Oscar Niemeyer, one of the key figures in
the development of modern architecture, and bears a resemblance to a spaceship
or UFO. It sits on a cliff and boasts scenic views of the sparkling beach and
Rio’s glorious hilly landscape. There’s also a long, winding red ramp walkway
which made the perfect runway.
Setting the tone for the City (Rio) inspired collection; guests
were seated in single rows of crates in bright and quirky colours. The clothes bragged just as many colours;
crafted in many fabrics and textures and peppered with ruffles and cut-outs. There
were slits, asymmetrical hems, a selection of different collars and bold cut-outs.
It’s really so difficult to pick out my favourite pieces but I did love the fútbol prints.
Here are some highlights from the show.
There is also an exclusive collection of bags from the show
that can be purchased online here.
What fashion dreams are made of!
Until next time
Love and sparkles
