Valentine’s Day with Spring

As you all know by all the red, white and pink that’s been thrown up all over everywhere, Valentine’s Day is coming! I’m not a gigantic celebrator but hey, who doesn’t like getting gifts?! Now, usually I’m okay with just a hug and a kiss or a cookie or cupcake. A really delicious well-made sandwich or some spicy chicken wings also do the trick. Today though, my wishlist is very glam as I’m picking out my top 3 gifts from Spring.

Seriously, how insanely cool is this pair of sunnies?! It’s a pretty and subtle gold with neon pink lenses. I really love the shape too!

Jean Mrs. Clutch by Edie Parker ($1295)

How cute is this?! The Mr will probably think it’s a bit silly but he will humour me anyway. Edie Parker is known for their dreamy hand-poured acrylic clutches adorned with words and sayings. This lovely pearlescent one features gorgeous glitter text and gold hardware on a pearlescent bag. I. Must. Have!

Miss Havisham Ring byAlexis Bittar ($101.50)

Jewels make the best gifts! This Swarovski crystal adorned ring has such an opulent and antique feel to it. It also happens to look slightly like a crown! How fitting!

My Spring Treat Yo’Self Wishlist

I know that it’s September and technically Spring is here but I’m not quite ready to give up my monochromes yet! I think that joggers and a slogan tee are a good way to slowly ease into the warmer months. If you keep the outfit fairly simple, you can go a little crazy with the jewellery as you can see I’ve done here.

This is one of the tees that Jacqueline from Stylistique gave me to style. It’s one I’ve been after for a while now and I love that it feels a little oversized because that just adds to whole comfy chic feel of the outfit.

When I saw these joggers at Mr Price I just could not resist. The cat print is adorable (at least these ARE cats, I’m looking at you HELLO KITTY!!!!!) and they are comfy as heck. I want to give an award to the person that invented joggers because they have saved me from being an absolute grouchy pants on many an occasion. You can pair your joggers with flats, ankle straps or courts for a chic look or wedge sneakers or high tops for something a little more street. I chose these sweet Zara heels because and I hadn’t worn them yet and Spring called for something pastel.

Although I personally feel that pearls will never go out, they seem to be very in right now. I have lots of different strings of pearls and I love layering them together with my other necklaces for something unique. Check out Zara and Zuri for some stunning faux pearls. I finished the look with some MAC St Germain lipstick for a little more pastel detail.

Anni King is a South African brand which was started by Joanna Chen. The name comes from her middle name (Anni) and her Dad’s name (King) and she founded Anni King so that she could provide women with beautiful leather bags that are made with quality materials and manufactured well. Johanna designs all the bags herself (lots of hard work and sleepless nights) and is also very involved in the manufacturing process so she can ensure you are getting the total best quality. It’s so refreshing to speak with someone who took an idea they believed in and worked hard to get it out there. I’ve seen how Joanna puts her absolute all into Anni King and it’s become a brand I really believe in too.

The SS14/15 collection is quietly breathtaking. There is no fluff and pointless embellishments, just lovely leather bags in beautiful shapes and soft and bright summer colours. The bags are appropriately named after flowers so they totally get you in the mood for the warmer months. You can choose from a “Hydrangea” tote in buttery yellow to match your florals or if your style leans more towards the grunge side of things then the black “Petunia” backpack is definitely up your alley. My favourite has got to be the “Sweet Pea” in pink because it looks like something off the set of Gossip Girl.
